Myakka State Park 04-2012

Hey you all! Just got back camping at this great state park. Half price over 65 Florida residents or diabled-- $15/day RV or tenting. All camping sites in three areas are RV capable with water and elect provided. The river forms two big lakes. You can fish and Kayak anywhere. The park is basically hammacks (mixed oak, pine and palms) and pine plains. Has a nice canopy walkway and tower, 28 miles of hiking trails with half a dozen primitive camping sites, off road biking trails, and even horse trails. There are concession facilities with neat gifts, snacks, basic food stuffs, beer, ice, a small cafe, air boat tours daily, canoe and kayak rental. Wonderful place to fish, and bird and animal watch. I'll go back again after I purchase a kayak.
